
It’s already the 16th edition of the Global Management Challenge – the largest strategy and management competition, organized in Poland by BIGRAM.
GMC is a complex business simulation for company and student teams. Teams take on the roles of management in companies and compete with each other on the virtual market. The project has been organized since 1980 in the form of a national on-line contests in nearly 40 countries. Around the world, the initiative has gathered more than half a million participants. For years, the GMC remains the undisputed leader in the field of gamification.
The complex range of GMC decision making makes the simulation the greatest strategy game in Poland and in the world generating many benefits to the participants of the competition. Among the highlights, worth mentioning are: development of knowledge and skills related to strategic management (from market analysis to strategic planning), new experience in making complex managerial decisions and improvement of team cooperation.
There are nearly 100 company teams in this edition and these include: KGHM (Strategic Partner GMC), the PGE Capital Group, Saint-Gobain Group, Lingaro, Tauron (more than 20 teams!), Aperam, ArcelorMittal, Bakalland, Bank Zachodni WBK, Coca Cola HBC, EDF Poland, Liberty Insurance, Xelion Investment House, Motorola, Netia, Robert Bosch, ProContact, TMF Group, Netia, Lingaro, Atos IT Services, Top Farms, Żywiec Group, PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, MBA University of Economics in Wroclaw.
Students from over 40 universities applied to participate in this year’s edition of the competition. The best applications are under the auspices of: Warsaw Stock Exchange, Rzeczpospolita, GetResponse, PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, UBS, Robert Bosch, PGNiG Termika, ArcelorMittal, Top Farms.
In total, there are more than 330 teams from Poland participating in the 16th edition of the GMC. Preparations for the competition included the training stage and a series of webinars with the finalists of the previous edition. Currently, we are in the first on-line phase. The best teams will qualify to the second round. The national finals will be held in March at the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and the world cup final will take place in April in Macau.
