The second round of the 16th edition of GMC started on January 12 and will last until February 16. For five weeks, 42 teams will compete to achieve the highest result of the investment of their virtual companies.
All teams started at the same level. Their task is to manage a production and trading company within international reach. What is interesting, at this stage, teams have to build their company basically from scratch.
Among the 42 teams competing in the second stage of the GMC Poland there are seven corporate teams from KGHM, one from PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, three from Tauron and two from GK PGE. Moreover, corporate teams from Bank Zachodni WBK and Top Farms will meet in the second round, as well as student teams representing Warsaw Stock Exchange, KGHM, Rzeczpospolita, magazine MyCompany, Personel i Zarządzanie, UBS and PGNiG TERMIKA.
In the survey, conducted after the first stage of the competition, participants indicated largest increase in the ability to analyze data – 80% of respondents, planning and implementation strategies – 80% and the impact of various factors on the performance of the company – 80%. Three quarters of the participants has already announced that they will recommend the next edition of GMC among their friends.
This year Warsaw Stock Exchange assumed patronage over Global Management Challenge Poland and KGHM is the strategic partner of the competition.
Eight teams will enter the National Finals and the winner of the Polish edition will go to the World Final GMC to Macau (in April 2016).
